the mood room
plains art museum, fargo, ND
An Interactive Light & Sound Installation by LESLEYDIDTHAT and Blaine Booher, produced by Folkways
may 3rd - 31st, 2025
The Mood Room invites guests to step inside a space where light and sound respond to their presence, echoing the changing hues of a mood ring. Created by multimedia artist Lesleyanne Buegel (LESLEYDIDTHAT) and software engineer Blaine Booher, the installation blends art, technology, and play. Inside the room, visitors are encouraged to explore a hands-on puzzle and a series of mysterious buttons that unlock unique "moods", from “Dark and Stormy” to “Disco Mode.”
“The Mood Room was an idea in my head that I’ve wanted to create for years,” said LA. “Art can be so much more than a static physical piece on a wall. The Mood Room is about energy, emotion, and discovery.”
from the dreamgarden

3 original paintings from the dreamgardens of my mind, on display on the sidewalks of downtown.

In this collection, L.A. invites viewers into a surreal inner landscape where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. Each painting is a manifestation of her desire to bring enchantment to life, blending landscapes with spontaneity to create a world that is both ethereal and familiar.
Presentation of these works in an empty storefront window display has allowed the public to view this mini-gallery for free, at all hours of the day.
Shapes, etc.
12 original paintings, honoring and recreating shapes I encountered in the last year along my journeys that i found to be visually striking.
Bear Creek Winery, ND
October 11th - 12th, 2024
“The works in this show are my version of intriguing shapes I have seen, collected, inherited, received by text, purchased, or had inked on my skin. They are a representation of how I learned to look intentionally at the world, notice what was around me, and how I connected and communed with the most interesting parts.”

Something to look at
20 original paintings. abstract, spontaneous, layered, and vibrant
displayed at the space (701 main ave), downtown fargo, nD
june 10 - 11th, 2023
“SOMETHING TO LOOK AT resulted from getting comfortable in playing on canvas, and finding what felt good. I let loose, used many colors, and often had no plans for my brush as I approached the canvas. In painting, I explored the liminal spaces that abstract work flows from and into.
After years of mural and commissions for others, it was the first step towards reclaiming a creative practice for myself. I used the design from “L.A.” for the back of the hoodies made for the show.
I enjoyed painting on functional objects and bringing unexpected depth to them. An old store mannequin and my friend’s longboard were both included as canvases in this show. ”
